Move-In

Fall 2026 Move-In Details

You'll pick a check-in appointment ahead of time and bring a QR code from the Move-In Status portal (available about 30 minutes before your slot) along with a photo ID such as a driver's license or passport. Families stay in the car during check-in, and you'll need to be present to unlock your hall and room; in suite-style halls you'll open both the suite and individual room doors. Volunteers help unload during the main move-in windows.

Check your assignment in the housing portal for your specific date and time - your exact move-in date is shown above in the Overview.

Move-in day logistics

Check-in location
LJVM Coliseum, entered from Deacon Boulevard and University Parkway.
Parking
Cars follow one of three routes (Gold, Black or Silver) based on your hall assignment; main parking for move-in is Lot Q behind Wait Chapel and Lots Z3/4 on Long Drive.
What you'll receive
Your room key, your Deacon OneCard, and move-in parking passes.

Move-in day tips

  • Arrive during your assigned move-in window - arriving early may mean waiting until your time slot.
  • Bring a rolling cart or hand truck - campus carts can run out quickly during busy move-in periods.
  • Have a parking backup plan - spaces near residence halls can fill up quickly, so know where you can unload if your preferred area is full.
  • Watch the loading-zone time limit - many campuses require you to move your vehicle to longer-term parking after unloading.
