UTEP's campus is the only major university in the United States built almost entirely in Bhutanese dzong architectural style - inspired by a 1914 National Geographic article and the resemblance between the Himalayas and El Paso's own Franklin Mountains - with first-year students housed across three residence communities: Copper, Sacramento, and Guadalupe.

You'll select your own move-in appointment starting August 1, 2026. Early arrival requests must be submitted online no later than August 15. There is no visitor parking available at any of UTEP's three residential properties (Miner Village, Miner Canyon, Miner Heights) - notify visitors they'll need to find parking outside the residence halls area.
