Doors open 7:30 a.m.-6:00 p.m. Sunday, August 9, 2026. UNT highly recommends incoming freshmen live on campus, though it isn't required. Freshmen may bring a car with a paid residential parking permit; resident students are assigned a parking lot by hall.

- Vehicle restrictions
- Resident and Remote permit holders must relocate their cars on home football game days; if a preferred parking lot isn't available for a hall, students fall back to the lower-cost Remote permit and shuttle in.
Move-in day tips
- Arrive during your assigned move-in window - arriving early may mean waiting until your time slot.
- Bring a rolling cart or hand truck - campus carts can run out quickly during busy move-in periods.
- Have a parking backup plan - spaces near residence halls can fill up quickly, so know where you can unload if your preferred area is full.
- Watch the loading-zone time limit - many campuses require you to move your vehicle to longer-term parking after unloading.
