You'll be assigned a suggested Move In Day to help spread out traffic and wait times - watch your UNCG email for updates. If you attended the university's "Stop, Drop and Roll" early-belongings program, most of your things should already be in your room, and you can go straight to it without checking in again. Volunteers will be on hand to help check out moving bins and provide directions, though not to monitor parking directly.
Check your assignment in the housing portal for your specific date and time - your exact move-in date is shown above in the Overview.
- What you'll receive
- Your room key at check-in. Moving bins can be checked out with help from volunteers on move-in day (not reservable in advance) - bringing your own hand truck or cart is also encouraged, if you have one.
Move-in day tips
- Arrive during your assigned move-in window - arriving early may mean waiting until your time slot.
- Bring a rolling cart or hand truck - campus carts can run out quickly during busy move-in periods.
- Have a parking backup plan - spaces near residence halls can fill up quickly, so know where you can unload if your preferred area is full.
- Watch the loading-zone time limit - many campuses require you to move your vehicle to longer-term parking after unloading.
