Fall 2026 Move-In Details
New freshman move-in is staggered by residence hall. Check the housing portal for your assigned date and time window. Print your specific hall's Unloading Pass in advance and place it on your dashboard while unloading. Bring a water bottle, wear cool comfortable clothes, and pack a tarp in case of rain during unloading.

- Check-in location
- Broward, Jennings, and Rawlings Halls all use UF's "Non-Traditional" check-in: report to the Fifield parking lot at your appointment time and stay in your vehicle - staff will direct you to your hall's unloading zone from there.
- Parking
- Unloading zones are for quick unloading only - once your items are out, move your vehicle to your assigned long-term parking location. A free shuttle runs 8 a.m.-5:30 p.m. between parking and your hall.
- What you'll receive
- Carts are available to check out with a government-issued ID (or bring your own) to help move your things. Have your mobile GatorOne ready - you'll need it to collect your keys at your area office.
- Vehicle restrictions
- Vehicles left unattended in an unloading zone are not permitted - someone must stay with the car while it's being unloaded, then move it promptly to long-term parking.
Move-in day tips
- Arrive during your assigned move-in window - arriving early may mean waiting until your time slot.
- Bring a rolling cart or hand truck - campus carts can run out quickly during busy move-in periods.
- Have a parking backup plan - spaces near residence halls can fill up quickly, so know where you can unload if your preferred area is full.
- Watch the loading-zone time limit - many campuses require you to move your vehicle to longer-term parking after unloading.
