The United States Air Force Academy is a federal service academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado, that combines academics, military training and athletics to prepare cadets for service as officers in the Air Force and Space Force. First-year cadets begin with a summer of Basic Cadet Training before joining a Cadet Wing organized into squadrons that live in the Academy's cadet dormitories and dine together in Mitchell Hall.

Fall 2026 Move-In Details
On I-Day, families drop off appointees, then ride a shuttle to the Cadet Area for an I-Day parents program. In-processing covers paperwork and medical screening, the oath of service, then uniform issue and grooming.

- In-processing begins at the Holaday Athletic Center.
- Parking
- Families park at Falcon Stadium and are bused to Arnold Hall for the I-Day parents program.
- What you'll receive
- Cadets are issued laptops, uniforms, bedding and linens on arrival.
Move-in day tips
- Arrive during your assigned move-in window - arriving early may mean waiting until your time slot.
- Bring a rolling cart or hand truck - campus carts can run out quickly during busy move-in periods.
- Have a parking backup plan - spaces near residence halls can fill up quickly, so know where you can unload if your preferred area is full.
- Watch the loading-zone time limit - many campuses require you to move your vehicle to longer-term parking after unloading.
