The Southwestern Indian Polytechnic Institute is a federally operated tribal land-grant college in northwest Albuquerque, opened in 1971 under the Bureau of Indian Affairs. It has two traditional residence halls with about 256 beds in total, Golden Eagle Lodge for male-identifying students and Four Winds Lodge for female-identifying students, with two or three residents per room and no coed halls. Rooms are assigned first come, first served each semester, and a waitlist is kept for students enrolled in at least 12 credits.

Move-in day tips
