Move-In

Fall 2026 Move-In Details

Move-in is staggered by last name, with alternate weekend dates if you have a travel conflict. Vehicles get a 15-minute unloading window with volunteer help, then move to permanent parking.

Check your assignment in the housing portal for your specific date and time - your exact move-in date is shown above in the Overview.

Move-in day logistics

Arrival window
A-G 8:30am, H-O 10:00am, P-Z 11:30am
Check-in location
One of five entry checkpoints based on your hall assignment (Finn/Sobrato Garage, Loyola Hall Lot, University Villas, Guadalupe Hall Lot or Varsi Lot), then your hall entrance.
Parking
Parking is free during move-in, and at least one person must stay with the vehicle at all times. Unattended vehicles risk ticketing and towing.

Move-in day tips

  • Arrive during your assigned move-in window - arriving early may mean waiting until your time slot.
  • Bring a rolling cart or hand truck - campus carts can run out quickly during busy move-in periods.
  • Have a parking backup plan - spaces near residence halls can fill up quickly, so know where you can unload if your preferred area is full.
  • Watch the loading-zone time limit - many campuses require you to move your vehicle to longer-term parking after unloading.
