Rhode Island College is a public college in Providence, founded in 1854 as the Rhode Island State Normal School, on a 180-acre campus in the Mount Pleasant section. It has six residence halls housing 1,194 undergraduates, including Penfield Hall, a LEED-certified building from 2007.
