Move-In
Fall 2026 Move-In Details
Complete the online self check-in form through the Student Housing Portal at least two hours before you arrive, then go to the lobby of your assigned building. Your CSUN MataCard works as your housing key and must be activated on your phone before arrival. Limited dollies and bins are available, so bring your own if you can.
Check your assignment in the housing portal for your specific date and time - your exact move-in date is shown above in the Overview.
Move-in day logistics
- Arrival window
- 9am-4:30pm
- Check-in location
- The lobby of your assigned building, after online self check-in.
- Parking
- You get 15 minutes to unload in the designated lots near your building, then move the vehicle to Lot F10 across Lassen Street, which is free from 7am-7pm on move-in day.
Move-in day tips
- Arrive during your assigned move-in window - arriving early may mean waiting until your time slot.
- Bring a rolling cart or hand truck - campus carts can run out quickly during busy move-in periods.
- Have a parking backup plan - spaces near residence halls can fill up quickly, so know where you can unload if your preferred area is full.
- Watch the loading-zone time limit - many campuses require you to move your vehicle to longer-term parking after unloading.
