Tips
- Ask whether your school offers early arrival housing, and how to request it, before you book flights.
- Check airline baggage limits first, then decide what to ship, skip or buy locally.
- Many schools run an international orientation separate from the main one; ask when it is.
Questions
Can international students move in early?
Often, but not always. Many schools offer an early arrival window, sometimes with a fee. Ask the housing and international student offices well before you travel.
What should I buy after I arrive instead of packing?
Bedding, towels, a lamp and other bulky items. Dorm beds are often Twin XL, which is not a standard size everywhere, so check your school's size first.
