Fall 2026 Move-In Details

Move-in for all residence halls, including East Lake Apartments, is Thursday, Aug. 20, 8:30am to 4pm, by 15-minute appointment booked in the Housing Portal starting June 1. Residents should be moved in by 4pm, when orientation activities and floor meetings begin, and fall meal plans start the same day. Early arrival needs an approved request submitted June 1 to Aug. 1, with the earliest convenience move-in on Aug. 19 at $50 per day. International students get three extra days at no charge. Some groups, such as athletes and Welcome Crew volunteers, have their own earlier dates.

Check your assignment in the housing portal for your specific date and time.

Move-in day logistics

Check-in location
Go to your residence hall's front desk to pick up your room key and Warrior ID card if you do not already have them.
Parking
Each hall has a 20-minute unloading zone out front, and you move items onto the grass or sidewalk. A Welcome Crew volunteer gives you a car pass listing the student's name, cell number and room number, to be placed on the driver's side dashboard. After unloading, park in another campus lot or on a street away from the halls. Do not rely on GPS because nearby roads may be blocked, and follow posted signs and volunteers. Your Area Coordinator emails key pickup and parking details about five days before your appointment.

Move-in day tips

  • Arrive during your assigned move-in window - arriving early may mean waiting until your time slot.
  • Bring a rolling cart or hand truck - campus carts can run out quickly during busy move-in periods.
  • Have a parking backup plan - spaces near residence halls can fill up quickly, so know where you can unload if your preferred area is full.
  • Watch the loading-zone time limit - many campuses require you to move your vehicle to longer-term parking after unloading.
