Fall 2026 Move-In Details
First-year and transfer move-in is Tuesday, Aug. 11 (Brown, Lowndes, Reade, Hopper, Georgia) and Wednesday, Aug. 12 (Patterson, Georgia, Hopper, Centennial). Most halls run 9am to 2pm with the last timeslot at 1pm. Pick a timeslot in the housing portal; selection opened July 22. Returning students move in Aug. 14 to 16.
Check your assignment in the housing portal for your specific date and time.
Move-in day logistics
- Check-in location
- First-year and transfer students check in at the University Center to get keys and a move-in packet, then go to their assigned hall to unload. Returning students move in directly at their hall.
- Parking
- Trailers and U-Hauls are not permitted because hall parking lots cannot fit them. After check-in, unload quickly at your hall. Pack only what you need at first; more can come over Labor Day weekend. Label boxes with your name and room number. Pets are not allowed during move-in.
Move-in day tips
- Arrive during your assigned move-in window - arriving early may mean waiting until your time slot.
- Bring a rolling cart or hand truck - campus carts can run out quickly during busy move-in periods.
- Have a parking backup plan - spaces near residence halls can fill up quickly, so know where you can unload if your preferred area is full.
- Watch the loading-zone time limit - many campuses require you to move your vehicle to longer-term parking after unloading.
