Move-In
Fall 2026 Move-In Details
New and transfer students move in Saturday, Aug. 29, and returning students on Sunday, Aug. 30. Move-in runs through Tuesday, Sept. 1, in 30-minute timeslots. Meal plans and welcome activities begin on Aug. 29.
Check your assignment in the housing portal for your specific date and time.
Move-in day logistics
- Check-in location
- Check in at your assigned residence hall during your timeslot to receive your UWRF student ID and room key.
- Parking
- Unload your vehicle near your hall during your 30-minute timeslot, then move it. Short-term 2-hour lots are O, N, K and E (O Lot exits are left-turn only during move-in). Permit holders use their permit lot; others can buy temporary parking online, use PAY3 rows 3-12, pay-by-space or city streets. PAY1 is free Aug. 29, 7 a.m.-9 p.m. Wild Rose Avenue, 3rd Street and 6th Street are one-way on Aug. 29, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
Move-in day tips
- Arrive during your assigned move-in window - arriving early may mean waiting until your time slot.
- Bring a rolling cart or hand truck - campus carts can run out quickly during busy move-in periods.
- Have a parking backup plan - spaces near residence halls can fill up quickly, so know where you can unload if your preferred area is full.
- Watch the loading-zone time limit - many campuses require you to move your vehicle to longer-term parking after unloading.
