Move-In
Fall 2026 Move-In Details
New freshmen and transfer students move in on Saturday, Aug. 29, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Continuing students move in Aug. 30 to 31, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Staff are on hand all day, so there is no need to arrive at the earliest time. You must complete check-in yourself: sign for your room key, hand in the Personal Data Form and sign up for a Residence Hall Activity Membership. Inspect your room at check-in. To arrive early, submit the Early Arrival Sign Up Form.
Check your assignment in the housing portal for your specific date and time.
Move-in day logistics
- Check-in location
- Check-in is at stations at the front of each residence hall. Hall-specific instructions are emailed to your campus email account before move-in.
- Parking
- Many halls use drop-off zones with 15-minute parking during move-in weekend. Unload, then staff direct you to the closest parking lot. Follow posted signs, cones and staff directions, and expect heavy traffic. If you rented a loft and missed delivery, pick it up at check-in. Bring tools such as Allen wrenches or a rubber mallet, since front-desk tools may be limited.
Move-in day tips
- Arrive during your assigned move-in window - arriving early may mean waiting until your time slot.
- Bring a rolling cart or hand truck - campus carts can run out quickly during busy move-in periods.
- Have a parking backup plan - spaces near residence halls can fill up quickly, so know where you can unload if your preferred area is full.
- Watch the loading-zone time limit - many campuses require you to move your vehicle to longer-term parking after unloading.
