The University of the Virgin Islands, the territory's sole accredited university and a historically Black land-grant institution, spans two campuses - the 388-acre Orville E. Kean Campus overlooking John Brewers Bay on St. Thomas, and the Albert A. Sheen Campus on St. Croix - with new Buccaneers moving into residence halls each August ahead of orientation activities including a guided hike, a welcome barbecue, and a pickleball festival.

New students accepted for housing receive their assignment information by July 1 for Fall semester, ahead of orientation. A $100 reservation fee is required with your housing application, refundable upon request at separation from the university. Living in the US Virgin Islands offers a genuinely unique residential experience - pack for warm, tropical weather year-round, though classrooms and offices may be air-conditioned. The campus is small and hilly, so be prepared to walk, though a campus shuttle is available.
