Fall 2026 Move-In Details
First-year and transfer move-in is Wednesday, Aug. 19 or Thursday, Aug. 20, 2026. Residents sign the move-in agreement, then pick a 20-minute appointment in the housing portal under Operation Move In. Appointments opened July 15 and slots are limited. Returning students move in Saturday, Aug. 22 and after.
Check your assignment in the housing portal for your specific date and time.
Move-in day logistics
- Check-in location
- First-year and transfer check-in is a drive-through tent at the Sports Complex. Family members can meet the student at the unloading zone at the residence hall.
- Parking
- Park only in marked unloading lots or spaces and unload within 20 minutes; the driver must stay with the vehicle. Limited carts are available, so bring your own cart or dolly. Do not park in the street, handicap spaces or fire lanes. After unloading, move the car to a long-term lot; a virtual permit is still required for on-campus parking.
Move-in day tips
- Arrive during your assigned move-in window - arriving early may mean waiting until your time slot.
- Bring a rolling cart or hand truck - campus carts can run out quickly during busy move-in periods.
- Have a parking backup plan - spaces near residence halls can fill up quickly, so know where you can unload if your preferred area is full.
- Watch the loading-zone time limit - many campuses require you to move your vehicle to longer-term parking after unloading.
