Fall 2026 Move-In Details
New first-year and transfer students move in on Friday, Aug. 21, 2026, which is also the start of Passages Orientation. Move-in is staggered by residence hall and floor: 9:00 a.m. for third floor, 9:45 for ground and fourth floors, 10:30 for second floor and 11:15 for first floor. An email in early July gives your assigned date and time, so do not arrive before it. You can ship up to five boxes starting Aug. 1.
Check your assignment in the housing portal for your specific date and time.
Move-in day logistics
- Check-in location
- If you arrive early, check in at the Welcome Center for Passages before going to your residence hall.
- Parking
- Unloading zones are for unloading only. Use Lot 5 for Anderson/Langdon or Harrington, Lot 4 for Todd/Phibbs and Lot 6 for Schiff. After unloading, Security Services staff direct you to a permanent lot for orientation weekend. Cars must be registered.
Move-in day tips
- Arrive during your assigned move-in window - arriving early may mean waiting until your time slot.
- Bring a rolling cart or hand truck - campus carts can run out quickly during busy move-in periods.
- Have a parking backup plan - spaces near residence halls can fill up quickly, so know where you can unload if your preferred area is full.
- Watch the loading-zone time limit - many campuses require you to move your vehicle to longer-term parking after unloading.
