Fall 2026 Move-In Details

First-year residents move in on Thursday, Aug. 20, and transfer and returning residents on Friday, Aug. 21, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Athletes, Global, Honors and OIPE students should watch for separate messages with their date and time. Bring your student ID and get your ID card made several days ahead so the door readers accept it. Label everything with your name and room number, and complete a Room Condition Report with your RA. Lofts can be rented for $100, charged to your student account.

Check your assignment in the housing portal for your specific date and time.

Move-in day logistics

Check-in location
All check-ins begin at the front of Oak Hall. Leave luggage in the car until you have checked in, then sign for your keys, have your ID encoded and pick up welcome materials.
Parking
Lot KK allows 20 minutes for loading and unloading only. You may also park behind Oak Hall, but double parking is not allowed.

Move-in day tips

  • Arrive during your assigned move-in window - arriving early may mean waiting until your time slot.
  • Bring a rolling cart or hand truck - campus carts can run out quickly during busy move-in periods.
  • Have a parking backup plan - spaces near residence halls can fill up quickly, so know where you can unload if your preferred area is full.
  • Watch the loading-zone time limit - many campuses require you to move your vehicle to longer-term parking after unloading.
