Every student is required to have a move-in appointment to complete online check-in; students without an appointment, or arriving prior to their appointment, will not be permitted to move in, with no exceptions. Your student ID serves as your building and room key, so visit the student ID center before arrival if you don't have one. Once on campus during your appointment window, log in to the Student Housing Portal and select Check-in from the red menu bar. Appointment times are pre-assigned based on your room assignment (building and floor) and emailed to your Ole Miss Gmail in early July.

- What you'll receive
- Once you complete online check-in during your appointment window, access to your room is activated directly on your student ID - no separate physical key handoff required.
Move-in day tips
- Arrive during your assigned move-in window - arriving early may mean waiting until your time slot.
- Bring a rolling cart or hand truck - campus carts can run out quickly during busy move-in periods.
- Have a parking backup plan - spaces near residence halls can fill up quickly, so know where you can unload if your preferred area is full.
- Watch the loading-zone time limit - many campuses require you to move your vehicle to longer-term parking after unloading.
