The University of Guam, the first post-secondary institution established in the Pacific after Hawaii, sits on a bluff overlooking Pago Bay in Mangilao, with new Tritons moving into one of three co-ed residence halls each August, joining a community drawn from across Micronesia, including Guam, Rota, Tinian, Saipan, Palau, Yap, Chuuk, Pohnpei, Kosrae, and the Marshall Islands.

Guam's cost of living is genuinely high, and rental properties near campus are typically outside a college student's budget, making on-campus housing a popular option despite space being limited to 224 total residents. Complete the university's own required health clearance form as soon as possible after acceptance - registration for classes cannot be completed until this is on file. The Residence Halls are intentionally modest, not luxury accommodations, with shared kitchens, bathrooms, and laundry facilities on each floor. All residents are required to sign up for the campus meal plan.

Move-in day logistics
- Arrival window
- Check-in runs 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on the first day of your housing contract period. If you can't arrive in that window, tell the Residence Halls Office in advance or your reservation may be cancelled; arriving early requires an approved short-term application and payment for the extra days.

- Check-in is handled by the Residence Halls Office.
- What you'll receive
- A room in one of three co-ed halls (single or double), with electricity and water included, campus Wi-Fi in every room, and laundry in each hall at $2.00 per cycle. Cable TV is only in the dorm lounges and rooms have no individual phone lines. Your room reservation also comes with a required campus meal plan.
- Vehicle restrictions
- Public buses (GRTA) stop hourly Monday to Saturday at the Field House and English Building.
Move-in day tips
- Arrive during your assigned move-in window - arriving early may mean waiting until your time slot.
- Bring a rolling cart or hand truck - campus carts can run out quickly during busy move-in periods.
- Have a parking backup plan - spaces near residence halls can fill up quickly, so know where you can unload if your preferred area is full.
- Watch the loading-zone time limit - many campuses require you to move your vehicle to longer-term parking after unloading.
