Move-In
Fall 2026 Move-In Details
First-year and transfer students move in Thursday, Aug. 27 in staggered time slots chosen by email sign-up in mid-July. Returning students move in Aug. 29.
Check your assignment in the housing portal for your specific date and time.
Move-in day logistics
- Arrival window
- 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Aug. 27, in your assigned time slot. Do not arrive outside your slot.
- Check-in location
- Check-in is by hall, for example the Gibbons Hall office for Gibbons, Caldwell and Seton Wing, and the Flather Hall lobby for Flather.
- Parking
- Residential freshmen and sophomores cannot buy parking permits or bring cars unless a Vehicle Exception Request is approved. For unloading, use the DuFour Center, O'Boyle Lot, Law School Garage or Basilica lot, and do not leave cars in unloading zones.
Move-in day tips
- Arrive during your assigned move-in window - arriving early may mean waiting until your time slot.
- Bring a rolling cart or hand truck - campus carts can run out quickly during busy move-in periods.
- Have a parking backup plan - spaces near residence halls can fill up quickly, so know where you can unload if your preferred area is full.
- Watch the loading-zone time limit - many campuses require you to move your vehicle to longer-term parking after unloading.
