Fall 2026 Move-In Details
New first-year students move in on Monday, Aug. 17, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Students choose a date and time in the Housing Portal by Aug. 5. Out-of-state and international first-years may select an Aug. 16 arrival. Bring two printed check-in passes and a photo ID. No more than two guests may come into the hall with you.
Check your assignment in the housing portal for your specific date and time.
Move-in day logistics
- Arrival window
- Monday, Aug. 17, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with a time set in the Housing Portal.
- Check-in location
- Report to the check-in tent in your residential community. Bring two printed check-in passes and a photo ID.
- Parking
- Arrive in one vehicle. You have 15 minutes to unload outside the building, then move the car to an appropriate parking space. Display a check-in pass on the dashboard. Trailers are not allowed.
Move-in day tips
- Arrive during your assigned move-in window - arriving early may mean waiting until your time slot.
- Bring a rolling cart or hand truck - campus carts can run out quickly during busy move-in periods.
- Have a parking backup plan - spaces near residence halls can fill up quickly, so know where you can unload if your preferred area is full.
- Watch the loading-zone time limit - many campuses require you to move your vehicle to longer-term parking after unloading.
