Saint Herman Theological Seminary, one of three seminaries operated by the Orthodox Church in America, trains Alaska Native clergy, readers, and church workers on a small Kodiak campus whose log chapel, consecrated in 2002, replicates the original 1795 church built for the first Orthodox missionaries to Alaska, with single students housed in eight apartments above the campus refectory.
