Fall 2026 Move-In Details
Move-in weekend runs Thursday, Aug. 13 through Sunday, Aug. 16, 2026. Each family is assigned a time slot, and day-specific details were to be emailed during the Summer 2026 term. Plan to finish the process within 2 to 3 hours of arriving at your residence hall. Volunteers and carts are available, but bring your own dolly or cart in case they are all in use. Residential Living staff meet you at the hall entrance and show you to your room.
Check your assignment in the housing portal for your specific date and time.
Move-in day logistics
- Check-in location
- Arrive via East 1st Street (Highway 1), follow Bowie Road, turn left into the Nicholls Recreation Center parking lot, and look for the Move-in Day banners. Students with no extra steps get their key at the checkpoint. Students who still need financial aid, fee payment, Colonel Card, parking pass or advising steps go inside the Rec Center, then pick up their key at Tent 2.
Move-in day tips
- Arrive during your assigned move-in window - arriving early may mean waiting until your time slot.
- Bring a rolling cart or hand truck - campus carts can run out quickly during busy move-in periods.
- Have a parking backup plan - spaces near residence halls can fill up quickly, so know where you can unload if your preferred area is full.
- Watch the loading-zone time limit - many campuses require you to move your vehicle to longer-term parking after unloading.
