National Louis University is a private university founded in 1886 to train early childhood educators, with its main campus in downtown Chicago and additional locations in the Chicago area. It offers undergraduate and graduate programs across four colleges, including education, psychology, business and culinary arts. It has no traditional residence halls of its own; students who want to live near campus can use University Center, a high-rise apartment building in the South Loop shared with other universities, and housing is not mandatory.
