Mississippi University for Women is a public, coeducational liberal arts university in Columbus, Mississippi. Founded in 1884 as a college for women, it began admitting men after a 1982 U.S. Supreme Court ruling and is a member of the Council of Public Liberal Arts Colleges. It has six on-campus residence halls, some of them women-only or men-only and others coed.

Move In Day is Saturday, Aug 15, an all-day event during Blues Week. Check in with housing staff in your building lobby, unload in the time-limited zones, then move your car to a student lot. Classes begin Aug 18.

Move-in day tips

  • Arrive during your assigned move-in window - arriving early may mean waiting until your time slot.
  • Bring a rolling cart or hand truck - campus carts can run out quickly during busy move-in periods.
  • Have a parking backup plan - spaces near residence halls can fill up quickly, so know where you can unload if your preferred area is full.
  • Watch the loading-zone time limit - many campuses require you to move your vehicle to longer-term parking after unloading.
