Fall 2026 Move-In Details
Move-in is Thursday, Aug. 27, 2026. New first-year students choose a move-in appointment in the RoomRez portal. After check-in you get directions to your hall and one hour to unload. Volunteers help at no cost, and a limited supply of large wheeled bins can be checked out with a driver's license left as a deposit. Complete the Room Condition Report in RoomRez afterward.
Check your assignment in the housing portal for your specific date and time.
Move-in day logistics
- Check-in location
- Check in at the Fitness & Aquatic Center with the check-in QR code from your RoomRez move-in page, printed or on your phone. Your Loyola ID is not swiped, and you receive your key there.
- Parking
- After unloading, move your vehicle to the FAC or Cathedral parking areas north of campus, and a shuttle takes you back. Display the move-in placard on your dashboard while on campus.
Move-in day tips
- Arrive during your assigned move-in window - arriving early may mean waiting until your time slot.
- Bring a rolling cart or hand truck - campus carts can run out quickly during busy move-in periods.
- Have a parking backup plan - spaces near residence halls can fill up quickly, so know where you can unload if your preferred area is full.
- Watch the loading-zone time limit - many campuses require you to move your vehicle to longer-term parking after unloading.
