Gonzaga University's Spokane campus centers on College Hall - originally the Administration Building and once host to a sitting US President's 1903 visit - with new students required to live on campus for their first two years, including in Coughlin Hall, where all incoming Zags stay during New Student Orientation.

Fall 2026 Move-In Details

Parent and Family Orientation takes place during Move-In and Welcome Weekend, August 28-30, with registration opening in late spring/early summer. Furniture, large electronics like desktop computers and gaming systems, and university-prohibited items (drugs, alcohol, weapons, fireworks) should not be brought on move-in day. Spokane can get very hot in the summer, so plan accordingly for the move-in process.

Check your assignment in the housing portal for your specific date and time.

Move-in day logistics

Arrival window
New Student check-in runs 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on Friday, August 28; your specific designated arrival time is published on the ZagLiving portal closer to move-in.
Check-in location
Foley Lawn (Foley Field), for a one-stop check-in process covering both housing key pick-up and Parent and Family Orientation check-in.
Parking
Park in the BARC parking garage to unload, then return your vehicle(s) to the BARC parking garage once your items are unloaded.
What you'll receive
Housing key pick-up and Parent and Family Orientation check-in materials, both handled at Foley Lawn.

Move-in day tips

  • Arrive during your assigned move-in window - arriving early may mean waiting until your time slot.
  • Bring a rolling cart or hand truck - campus carts can run out quickly during busy move-in periods.
  • Have a parking backup plan - spaces near residence halls can fill up quickly, so know where you can unload if your preferred area is full.
  • Watch the loading-zone time limit - many campuses require you to move your vehicle to longer-term parking after unloading.
