Coppin State University is a public historically Black university in Baltimore and part of the University System of Maryland. It was founded in 1900 as a teacher training course and competes as the Eagles in NCAA Division I. Students live in Daley and Dedmond Halls on campus, and Fall 2026 new-student move-in also uses the Lord Baltimore and Sonesta buildings. A new residence hall under construction is scheduled to open in January 2027.

Move-In
Fall 2026 Move-In Details
New student move-in depends on your building: Daley on Wednesday, Aug. 19, Dedmond and Lord Baltimore on Thursday, Aug. 20, and Sonesta on Friday, Aug. 21. Each building has time slots by floor, starting at 9 AM. Residents must be registered for at least 12 credits to pick up keys, and students with unpaid balances need proof of a payment plan. Meningitis (or a waiver) and Hepatitis B vaccination proof is due at least a week before move-in.
Check your assignment in the housing portal for your specific date and time.
Move-in day logistics
- Check-in location
- For Dedmond and Daley, park in Lot F (Talon Lot) and report to the Talon Center. For Lord Baltimore and Sonesta, begin at the hotel front entrance and follow staff directions.
- Parking
- Campus move-in parking is in Lots E and F.
Move-in day tips
- Arrive during your assigned move-in window - arriving early may mean waiting until your time slot.
- Bring a rolling cart or hand truck - campus carts can run out quickly during busy move-in periods.
- Have a parking backup plan - spaces near residence halls can fill up quickly, so know where you can unload if your preferred area is full.
- Watch the loading-zone time limit - many campuses require you to move your vehicle to longer-term parking after unloading.
