Fall 2026 Move-In Details
New and international students move in on Wednesday, Aug. 12, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Returning students move in Aug. 15 and 16. Early arrival Aug. 3 to 7 needs an approved request and nightly fees apply. Staff unload and deliver belongings to your room, so pack everything before you arrive.
Check your assignment in the housing portal for your specific date and time.
Move-in day logistics
- Check-in location
- New students check in at the McMahon Learning Center front doors and should bring a CU ID.
- Parking
- New students start at Aggie Gym and follow staff directions, with up to 2 passenger vehicles per student. Drivers stay in their vehicles while staff unload at Shepler Towers or Cameron Village, then move to designated parking. U-Hauls, trailers and box trucks may unload only after 5:30 p.m.
Move-in day tips
- Arrive during your assigned move-in window - arriving early may mean waiting until your time slot.
- Bring a rolling cart or hand truck - campus carts can run out quickly during busy move-in periods.
- Have a parking backup plan - spaces near residence halls can fill up quickly, so know where you can unload if your preferred area is full.
- Watch the loading-zone time limit - many campuses require you to move your vehicle to longer-term parking after unloading.
