Augsburg University is a private university in Minneapolis, Minnesota, founded in 1869 as a Norwegian-American Lutheran seminary and affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. It sits in the Cedar-Riverside area and competes in NCAA Division III. On-campus housing includes Urness Hall, Anderson Hall and the Oren Gateway Center for first-years coming from high school, plus Luther and Mortensen Halls mainly for transfer and gap-year students. Fall 2026 Move-In Details
SOAR IV students move in Tuesday, Aug. 25 and must sign up for a move-in appointment, with details sent by Augsburg email in August. Other first-years move in Thursday, Aug. 27 (Urness floors 7, 8 and 9 from 8:00 AM, Anderson and Oren Gateway Center from 12:30 PM) or Friday, Aug. 28 (Urness floors 1 to 6 from 8:00 AM), by assigned floor or building time. Returning and transfer students use separate appointments from Aug. 29 to Sept. 1. Housing assignments were posted by July 1 for contracts completed by June 15.

Move-in day tips
- Arrive during your assigned move-in window - arriving early may mean waiting until your time slot.
- Bring a rolling cart or hand truck - campus carts can run out quickly during busy move-in periods.
- Have a parking backup plan - spaces near residence halls can fill up quickly, so know where you can unload if your preferred area is full.
- Watch the loading-zone time limit - many campuses require you to move your vehicle to longer-term parking after unloading.
